The Lap Around America Team had the pleasure of visiting one of the COOLEST axe throwing houses for their first annual After Dark Throw-Off!
TommyHawks Fourstates Axe House is a “kick-axe” Axe House that features both indoor & outdoor throwing lanes, cornhole, pin pong, and more…plus it’s entirely owned and operated by veterans! Jimmy Burgess, Brodi Pursley, Brian Rogers, and Geoff Ward own and operate several businesses as well as a non-profit. Employing nearly three dozen veterans, the team offers top-notch leadership training taught by special operations veterans via True North Enterprises, laser-engraving and custom firearm services via 2Bravo Laser, and veteran-community outreach services via the non-profit Brotherhood of Warriors.
Not only is the space super cool, the people behind it all are even cooler. We got to sit down and chat with Brodi about his passion for working with veterans. Brodi Pursley is the director of Brotherhood of Warriors and their goal is to improve the lives of veterans in their community. Anything from job placement, homelessness, immediate needs, mentorship, and even a program to help children of veteran families. In fact, a portion of the entry fees for the TommyHawks Fourstates Throw-Off will go directly to Brotherhood of Warriors!
You really can tell how passionate these guys are about not only supporting the Veterans in their community, but the entire community as a whole! TommyHawks Fourstates strives to be a place where everyone can just put down their phones, have fun, learn something new, and connect with the community.
Of COURSE we had to get in on the fun!
Some of us did great! Some of us did not……it was me…I did not do great.
A Lap Around America trip is not complete without food, so it’s a good thing these guys know how to EAT! Indian Springs Brewing Company was there with a selection of their best brews and Swarks, a food truck specializing in fried food, was dishing out fried chicken and catfish that’s seasoned/breaded with a flavorful homemade blend.
