Local Spotlight: DOT’S NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN, FAYETTEVILLE, AR

We got to sit down and chat with Russell Ingram, owner and head chef of Dot’s Nashville Hot Chicken…a food truck FULL of spice in Fayetteville, AR!

Russell and Sarah moved from Nashville, Tennessee to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2017. One of the perks of living in Nashville included being close to Pepperfire Hot Chicken, a Nashville Hot Chicken joint in the heart of town. When they moved to Northwest Arkansas they realized the area was sorely lacking in the Hot Chicken department…they decided to change that….thus Dot’s Nashville Hot Chicken was born!

While they loved the chicken at Pepperfire, they agreed that the flavor of the hot sauce was vastly overshadowed by the extreme heat. The fix? Chef Russell decided that a spicy rub, instead of sauce, using a blend of fresh habanero peppers and smoky cayenne would do the job…and boy does it. The result is a delicious balance of flavor and heat that gives you just enough kick in the pants to sweat a little. If you REALLY want to light your face on fire opt for the “True Believer” spice level, they take their hot rubbed chicken and top it with their homemade hot sauce for an experience that will leave you begging for water.

We chatted a bit about future business plans and they’re hoping to one day build a permanent location out of shipping containers! But for now you can find them dishing out their peppery poultry via food truck that usually sits at the Yacht Club on College.
